WEB 3.0 — The Game-Changer / Scam
This is how Google appeared in the past, which is Web 1.0, and everything we do now, from calling to gaming, is Web 2.0. However, the biggest or most serious problem with Web 2.0 is security, or cyber crime. Today, all of the power is in the hands of the CEO and the corporation. If Google decides to make you nude, it can just disclose everything you do on your phone, from pictures stored in Google Photos to your Google history, and if you think incognito works, you’re really high.
In today’s world, social media is so powerful that a few people decide to ban the ex-president of the United States of America from all social media platforms. Another example is Tik-Tok Vs YouTube, a video from one of youtuber Carryminati that went viral in a matter of hours and then was taken down within 24 hours, with no explanation given; it simply stated that the video violated their community guidelines. There are many more examples of this. These corporations are extremely powerful at the moment. The key point made was that Web 2.0 is insecure because all power is concentrated in the hands of very few CEOs.
The solution for this is Web 3.0, which includes all of the blockchain related concepts.
So, let’s take a look at Web 3.0 …
To begin with, there is no perfect definition for web 3.0. The ‘third version’ of the Internet’s central idea is to weave together diverse blockchain technologies — bitcoin, NFTs, and so on — to create a web that is less reliant on the five major technology corporations.
Web 3.0’s idea is that there will be no CEOs, Your digital identity will be separate from your physical identity. The power and control will be in your hands, and that with the help of blockchains, a code will be built that is fixed and will make all you anonymous. You will have complete control over who sees and gets access to your content. This may sound unachievable, but there was a time when people laughed at today’s internet.
Many experts believe that a time will come when companies will be run by DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations). If you wish to learn more about what this means, leave a comment.
Some people believe web 3.0 is revolutionary, while others believe it is a ruse (Scam)
There will be more security in web 3.0, and everything will be anonymous, but consider the rising prevalence of cyber crime: currently, if a scam occurs, the government questions the CEO; imagine there is no CEO who will take responsibility for cyber-crime. Because identification is anonymous in web 3.0, cops will be unable to apprehend a thief.
If you want to see someone’s true face, “Give Them A Mask”!!
Already, some incidents started taking place some web 3.0 developers had blocked the founder of Twitter from Twitter, and recently, $30 million worth of cryptocurrency was stolen from crypto.com. While this is not a small website, it is still impossible for them to track down the hackers.
People nowadays believe that cryptocurrency is democratic because they believe that no single person can control it. However, as seen in the graph, only a small percentage of coins are available to the public, while the rest are held by insiders or the founder.
It is also claimed that web 3.0 would have the following key features:
- Open — “open” in the sense that it would be developed using open-source software by an open and accessible community of developers in full view of the general public.
- Trustless — The network allows users to engage openly and privately without the need for an intermediary, thus providing “trustless” data.
- Permission-less — Anyone, including users and providers, can operate without a controlling organization’s authorization.
- Ubiquitous — Web 3.0 will make the Internet available to all of us, at any time and from any location. At some point, Internet-connected devices will no longer be limited to computers and smartphones, as they are in web 2.0. Because of the IoT (Internet of Things), technology will enable the development of a multitude of new types of intelligent gadgets.
These are some pretty huge claims. Basically, the blockchain concept isn’t fully developed yet; it’s still in its development, so we can’t say if it’ll be our future or just another scam.
Brain Tattoo:-
- Basically right now in web 2.0 huge powers are in CEO’s hands.
- There will be the start of a new era without CEOs.
- Many new concepts will be introduced with Web 3.0, but the rate of cyber-crime will also rise as a result.
- Many scams have already begun to emerge on web 3.0 and because of the anonymity of hackers/thieves in web 3.0, it will be more difficult for the government and police to track them down.
- If the owners or insiders who own such large amounts of cryptocurrency sold them, the market would drop like hell.
- Basically, web 3.0 is still in its early stages, so we can’t draw any conclusions yet.
